The Master Plan outlines an Infrastructure Program that is coordinated with industrial development. New infrastructure will be provided to support the new Industrial Zone, and existing infrastructure will be leveraged to support developments at the existing facilities. Early infrastructure activities will facilitate access to the sites for investors and provide the needed services to develop the land.
Program Highlights
- New 860 MW Power Generation Station
- Integrated desalination facility with 2,700 m3/hr capacity
- New seawater cooling system with 650,000 m3/hr capacity
Power Generation and Distribution
A new common power generating station will be installed to meet the cumulative power and water requirements.
Desalination
Multi-Stage Flash desalination facilities, coupled with the new common power generating station, will be installed to convert sea water into fresh water for domestic and industrial needs.
Roads
The site will require the construction of two new entrance roadways from the existing Intercoastal Highway that will accommodate heavy equipment and construction related traffic.
Communication Systems
Telecommunications is an integral part of all international corporations’ business model. Providing state-of-the-art data and voice services to all investor clients within the industrial city is the primary goal of the telecommunications infrastructure.
