Ras Lanuf is envisioned as a recognized world-class city with a flourishing population and a diverse industrial foundation based on petrochemical, gas, and non-hydrocarbon industries.

The industrial foundation will aid Ras Lanuf in occupying a strategic role as a center of economic growth in the Gulf of Sirte region. Ras Lanuf will also achieve world-class status through its iconic new city center which will be a vibrant center of activity and culture.

Employment

The Master Plan establishes a total industrial, infrastructure, and urban employment of more than 23,000 jobs at Ras Lanuf.

This includes employment stimulated by additional commercial and industrial employment such as from an oil field services park. The implementation of the Master Plan will also provide valuable skill development and technical experience to employees.

Population

Ras Lanuf currently has a population of approximately 12,500. A target population of approximately 80,000 is envisioned at Ras Lanuf as a result of the implementation of the Master Plan.
